London – The second series of ITV’s hit drama Trigger Point returned to screens this week, leaving some viewers frustrated but delighting those who binged the full series.
The high-octane thriller sees Vicky McClure reprise her role as bomb disposal expert Lana Washington. Still reeling from the traumatic events of series one, Lana returns from training Ukrainian forces to dive back into danger on the streets of London.

In the first episode, some fans complained about the tense background music being too loud and distracting during dialogue scenes. “No need for the constant ‘ominous music’ throughout Trigger Point. Only on episode 1, series 2 and already want to stop watching,” wrote one Twitter user.
However, those who watched the full six-episode series on ITVX were full of praise. “Just binged season 2 and all I can say is wow!! It was way better than season 1,” said one enthused viewer.
With gripping performances and ever-present tension, Trigger Point has proven compelling viewing. While some quibbles remain over audio mixing, fans consuming the series as a whole found it a tense and satisfying thriller.
