Nine Hospitalized After London Police Van Collides with Bus

London – Nine people, including six police officers, were hospitalized after a double-decker bus collided with a police van in south London on Wednesday morning.

The incident occurred around 11:30am on Kennington Park Road near Oval tube station. Emergency services rushed to the scene.

One officer trapped inside the damaged police vehicle was freed by firefighters before being transported to hospital. None of the injuries were life-threatening.

Photos showed parts of the police van were shredded in the impact. Road closures remain in place as inquiries continue.

The London Fire Brigade (LFB) said three bus passengers taken to hospital had left the bus before firefighters arrived.

Several other officers were hospitalized as a precaution after the “significant collision,” police said.

A total of nine casualties were transported to hospital. The Met Police and LFB remain at the site as the investigation into the circumstances continues.

Officials reminded motorists to take care on the roads in wet weather conditions after the mid-morning crash disrupted traffic.
